Overview

The XML Summer School offers a learning experience that goes way beyond a traditional training course, combining the chance to learn from some of the world’s most renowned XML experts whilst gaining a unique insight into what it’s like to be a student at one of our greatest Universities.

Teaching at the University of Oxford is based on the tutorial system, where students combine formal lectures with time spent in small groups tutored by experts in their chosen subjects. The XML Summer School follows this model and aims to provide delegates with a unique opportunity to sample the life of an Oxford undergraduate.

Each course at the XML Summer School is carefully designed as a set of classes that combine a lecture with a tutorial session that gives each delegate an opportunity to test their knowledge and to learn even more through interaction with both the lecturers and the other delegates.

And the learning experience doesn’t stop at the lecture room door, as lecturers and delegates all enjoy the same programme of evening social activities — college dinners, punting on the river, and walking tours of the historic pubs of Oxford.
